Evaluation Process
Charity Funding - Our Evaluation Process at a Glance
The Funding Committee reviews applications against select criteria, including:
- Community profile/reputation of the organization and its members
- Population benefited by requested funds (children 0-18, sick, at risk, underprivileged, QLD-based)
- Organization’s ability to track and measure results
- Evidence that costs are reasonable
- Evidence that project funding needs will be fully met
- Overall value for money
- Opportunity to promote/recognize the Zig Zag Foundation and major sponsors
- Opportunity to build long-term relationships
- Evidence of Charity Registration with Office Fair Trading (OFT) and Deductible Gift Endorsement (DGR) from Australian Taxation Office
Applications are either approved in full, in part or declined:
- Projects which receive full funding demonstrate an urgent need and high evidence of value
- Projects may receive funding for a portion of the total requested based on what the committee feels is reasonable and/or in line with overall Zag Zag objectives
- For some requests, Zig Zag will coordinate donations from the community in lieu of funding where possible
Projects which receive funding must sign a contract and agree to interim checkpoints and progress updates
